We are delighted to announce our inaugural Horizons of Portugal, a breathtaking journey that celebrates the very essence of driving excellence and luxury adventure. This carefully curated route showcases Portugal’s most captivating landscapes, from the vineyard lined valleys of the Douro to the rugged peaks of the Serra da Estrela and the golden coastline of the Algarve. Over the course of one unforgettable week, guests will experience five star hospitality at Portugal’s most exceptional hotels, enjoy spectacular driving roads that twist through mountains, vineyards and picturesque villages, and spend an exclusive afternoon at the brand new Circuito do Sol racetrack, where members will have the unique opportunity to drive their own cars or hire a range of track prepared performance machines. From the Douro Valley to the Algarve coast, discover Portugal’s finest roads, luxury retreats, and an exclusive racetrack experience — all in true Club GT style.

Our adventure begins at the magnificent Six Senses Douro Valley, a five-star sanctuary overlooking the terraced vineyards and winding waters of the Douro River, and our base for the first two nights. From this idyllic setting, we explore some of Northern Portugal’s most spectacular driving roads, winding through forests and vineyards before returning to Six Senses for a second evening of fine dining and relaxation.

Turning south, we journey into the Serra da Estrela Mountains to a tranquil retreat perfectly positioned for exploring Portugal’s highest peaks and dramatic mountain roads. Continuing into the Alentejo region, we take over an exclusive Wine & Luxury Hotel for two nights, where guests will enjoy a private afternoon at Circuito do Sol, Portugal’s newest racetrack and an exhilarating highlight of the tour.

Our finale unfolds on the Algarve coast, where breathtaking ocean views, world-class dining, and refined relaxation bring this unforgettable week to a close.

Event Schedule

Day 1 - Arrival in the Douro Valley

Our Horizons of Portugal begins at the stunning Six Senses Douro Valley, a five-star retreat nestled among vineyards on the banks of the Douro River and our home for the next two nights. Guests can relax by the pool or in the spa before our Drivers’ Briefing and a relaxed welcome dinner in the Vale de Abraão restaurant, the perfect start to the week ahead.

Day 2 - Through the Vineyards of Northern Portugal

Today’s drive showcases some of Northern Portugal’s most spectacular roads, winding through forests and vineyards in the Douro Valley. After a scenic lunch stop, we continue along sweeping ribbons of tarmac before returning to the Six Senses Douro Valley for our second night. Guests can unwind in the spa before enjoying another evening of fine food overlooking the river.

Day 3 - Adventure into the Burel Mountains

We head south towards the Burel Mountains, tackling some of Portugal’s most rewarding driving roads with a lunch stop in Torre de Moncorvo. Our journey ends at a five-star mountain retreat, taken exclusively for our group and nestled high in the peaks with panoramic views, a tranquil spa, and a superb dinner overlooking the valley below.

Day 4 - Exploring the Serra da Estrela

Today we explore the spectacular Serra da Estrela National Park, home to Portugal’s highest roads and most breathtaking mountain scenery. Expect flowing climbs, sweeping views, and thrilling driving throughout the day. We return to our five-star mountain retreat, where guests can unwind in the spa or enjoy drinks by the fire before another memorable dinner.

Day 5 - The Canyon Road to Alentejo

Today’s route features one of the finest driving sections anywhere, our legendary “Canyon Road,” a breathtaking ribbon of tarmac that carves along a valley as we descend from the mountains into the Alentejo region. After lunch by the Tagus River, we continue south to an exclusive wine estate, taken privately for our group. A relaxed evening of fine food and wine tasting awaits as we settle into this beautiful property, our base for the next two nights.

Day 6 - Track Experience at Circuito do Sol

This morning we visit the Circuito do Sol, Europe’s newest private racetrack, reserved exclusively for Club GT. Inspired by iconic corners from Spa, Laguna Seca, and Le Mans, the 3.5km circuit offers an unforgettable driving experience with cars available to hire. We return to our exclusive Alentejo retreat to relax by the pool before an alfresco bbq in the gardens.

Day 7 - The Corkscrew to the Algarve Coast

Our final drive takes us south towards the coast, tackling the legendary “Corkscrew” section of the N2 — a thrilling stretch of cambered, twisting tarmac that flows down through Almodôvar to Barranco do Velho. We arrive at the exquisite five star Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa, a Leading Hotels of the World property with a world class spa and private beach. As the sun sets over the Atlantic, we gather for celebratory drinks and dinner, marking the perfect end to our Horizons of Portugal.
